Mental Health in Everyday Life: Understanding Psychology with Alizay Naqvi
About this episode
In recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week, LTU adjunct psychology professor, psychotherapist, and Psychology doctoral trainee joins us on a discussion of how mental health and psychology are prevalent in every part of our lives. In this episode we touch on multiple different aspects of psychology and mental health. We discuss psychology degrees, stigma, what therapy really looks like, common misconceptions, and how culture shapes the way mental health is treated and understood. In the setting of LTU, college students face many struggles due to academic and personal stress. Understanding how it affects our wellbeing and day to day lives, as well as the steps we can take to help ourselves and others are all incredibly important.
