The interview provided an opportunity to meet an individual who has been engaged with the IEOM Society for many years. Professor Garza Reyes has served in many capacities with the IEOM Society. Perhaps the most well-known is his dedication and commitment to launching and making a significant contribution to the IJIEOM. Our discussion included an overview of the IJIEOM’s impact since its inception. This professional journal has grown to take its place among many others; however, this has included milestones such as Scopus recognition and, more recently, Q1 publication. Professor Garza Reyes provided the leadership and commitment to make this possible. He worked with an acceptable editorial team as well. The opportunities and challenges are discussed in the interview. Professor Garza Reyes has served on the IEOM Society Global Council for several years. Our interview included a discussion of the role this body has played in the growth and development of the IEOM Society. Professor Garza Reyes has attended and participated in many IEOM Society international conferences. He shared his experiences as a keynote speaker and panelist. The IEOM Society continues to be a student-focused organization. We discussed the importance of students sharing their research in our virtual global competitions. This is an integral part of learning and an opportunity to publish their research in the IEOM Index. Professor Garza Reyes is a subject-matter expert in Supply Chain Improvement. As part of the interview, he shared his thoughts on this topic. Professor Garza Reyes has conducted extensive research on Supply Chain and Logistics. He has shared his work with the IEOM Society’s vast global community.
